Current fees
Fees are per vehicle, not per person.
- $18 per vehicle per night
- $120 annual pass per vehicle
- $60 annual pass per vehicle for seniors and people with disabilities
- Active military: ask staff about available discounts
A day pass is really a day/night/day
The day-use pass is valid from the day you arrive until dusk the next day. That covers a standard overnight trip on a single pass, which surprises people who assume they need two.
How to pay
There are no processing fees for cash or check payment.
- Online at Recreation.gov
- At the Little Sahara Visitor Center, when it is open
- At the BLM Fillmore Field Office during business hours
- On site via self-pay envelopes (cash or check) or remote kiosks
How the annual pass actually works
The annual pass runs for one year to the end of the purchase month. Buy on March 1 and it runs through March 31 the following year.
- Online purchases send a QR code by email, which serves as your pass until exchanged for a sticker
- Kiosk purchases print a voucher, so write your license plate on it
- To get the physical sticker, bring the QR code or voucher to the Visitor Center or the Fillmore Field Office
- Using a self-pay envelope? Include your name and phone number so staff can confirm the pass
- Passes for additional vehicles must be purchased by calling the Fillmore Field Office
Displaying it
Print the pass and put it on the dashboard with the QR code visible, or show a digital pass on a phone. Motorcycle operators carry the pass on their person.
Plan for the line
Long entrance lines are common during peak season, and buying ahead does not get you through faster. It does mean you are not fumbling for a checkbook at a kiosk with fifty rigs behind you.
