Green River

BLM puts the dunes 25 miles southeast of Green River, reached by driving 13 miles east on I-70 to Exit 173. In town, the John Wesley Powell River History Museum at 1765 East Main Street is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., (435) 564-3427.

Moab

Moab is 48 miles southeast of the dunes. It is home to the BLM Moab Field Office at 82 East Dogwood (435-259-2100) and Moab Regional Hospital, whose emergency room at 450 Williams Way is open 24 hours.
